welcome to Lauren Kelley Counseling!

Helping adults move through trauma, anxiety, and relationship stress—with clarity, connection, and steady support.

Hi, I’m Lauren.

I partner with adults who want to slow down, tune in, and bring about real change. Maybe you're feeling the weight of anxiety, trauma, burnout, or relationship stress—and you're not sure where to start. That’s okay. We’ll take it at your pace and gently explore what’s getting in the way of you feeling like yourself again.

You’ll know you’re in the right place when…

You feel heard without judgment, guided without pressure, and supported to move gently toward the life you want.

Who I Work With

I work with adults who are open and motivated—even if they’re unsure or overwhelmed. Many of my clients are thoughtful, reflective people with a deep desire for self-awareness, meaningful connection, and lasting emotional growth.

You may be navigating:

Whether you're new to therapy or returning with more clarity about what you need, we’ll work together to untangle what’s holding you back and move toward greater confidence, ease, and self-trust.

How I Work

My approach is compassionate, collaborative, and tailored to your needs:

  • Body-centered tools: EMDR & mindfulness

  • Practical strategies: CBT & DBT

  • Attachment-aware care: to strengthen boundaries & deepen connection

  • Thoughtful treatment planning: so you always know where we’re headed—and why

No one-size-fits-all here. Just steady, grounded therapy shaped around your life and your goals.

Why This Matters

About Lauren

I'm a therapist who brings warmth, clarity, and a little realness into the therapy room. I help adults work through trauma, anxiety, grief, and relationship stress so they can feel more grounded and alive.

Why I Do This Work

Before becoming a therapist, I spent a decade in public relations—until I realized what I really wanted was to help people reconnect to their inner lives. Since then, I’ve dedicated 20 years to walking alongside people as they heal, grow, and remember who they are.

My Experience

  • B.A. in Psychology, San Jose State University

  • MSSW, University of Tennessee

  • Trained in EMDR, psychodynamic, Ego-State Work, CBT, DBT

  • Former roles at Vanderbilt Behavioral Health and Alive Hospice

  • Board member at Nashville Psychotherapy Institute

When I'm Not Working

I’m married (31 years!), a mom to two grown sons, and someone who recharges through nature, art, and meaningful conversation. I'm a lifelong learner, always finding new ways to deepen and soften.
